Happy with 1 yr visit with surgeon-YEAH
I've had a horrible three months, weightwise, because I have been dealing (ineffectively) with my daughter's severe bipolar disorder, my MILs broken wrist and my stepdaughter's recent bipolar disorder label. Yuck! It's been so bad that I didn't even connect the lack of weight loss to the emotional eating I was doing. So I seriously considered delaying my one year visit to the surgeon and nutritionist. I didn't want to get a lecture. My old surgeon, before the revision to RNY was so nasty and negative when I didn't lose weight or threw up all the time.
Well....I decided to take a big girl pill, get my labs and make an appointment. Got in within two days.
Guess what? Unlike the surgeon who berated the patient for ONLY losing 112 pounds in six months, mine was fine with my weight loss, with my eating fruit, with my exercise routine (except for the last month) and my labs. I left feeling WONDERFUL!!
So today I am moving forward and will post my labs soon.
Yeah for the OH group of lightweights who always make me feel good.

Sorry you have been dealing with all that but glad you have found the reason for the slowdown. You really have done amazing considering all the issues you have had to deal with. And you still have honeymoon to work on the rest. Go girl go

I am so sorry that you are dealing with so much. My 22 year old has bi-polar. I haven't heard from him in over a year. He moved across the country, went off his meds, and began self medicating with drugs and alcohol. Once they become adults there is little you can do to make them stay med compliant. It is so hard to see our children suffer. I do hope things ease up for you soon. And Congratulations on your 1 year appt. I'm glad you had a positive experience with your Dr.!!!!
As sad I am for my daughter, I DO realize there isn't much I can do. I'm so sorry you are dealing with the same issues. The only things that are saving me this time are my husband and the fact that I had a GREAT therapist who helped me see what path i must take.
Many years ago, when my daughter was about 9 her psychiatrist said that hopefully we would be able to have SOME relationship when she was older. I try to remember that there were lots of wonderful times, too. I hope you are blessed with some wonderful memories as well.
