OT bladder surgery and self cathatering

I am new here and I hope I am not out of line here but this is a subject VERY close to my heart.  I just went through this all last DEC and the outcome has been good....the difference is I was finally sent to see a Urogynocolygist (I hope I spelled that right...he is a specialist in urology and gynocology) and he had to repair my pelvic area and build a new lift for my bladder out of pig and cow but it has been the best thing that every happened to me.  He told me there is no reason why any woman should have to live with leakage or having to cath ourselves.  If you can find one in your area I really would advise you seek help from them first, I think it would be worth your while. I hope all goes well either way and I will be swinging lizards, cats, dogs and whatever else I can find for you.

Melanie, thanks so much for posting.  My doctor is medical director of urology at a major university hospital.  I think and hope I have the best doctor for my situation.

I am glad things have worked out for you.

there is a big difference between a urologist and a urogynecologist.  You might want to look further at what she is suggesting.
