I know it's a positive saying and used a lot here, but I have no  clue what it means.  Someone fill me in.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away....

                     DS WARS

The DSrs were battling each other over evangelicals
praying for everyone and asking for prayers.
The agnostics and atheists said enough!

In order to form a lasting peace the two sides decided
they would say they were swinging chickens rather
praying and trying to convert others to Christianity.

The term "swinging chickens" was brought here to
the LW board by me and one of my most favorite
LW vets in the whole world thought it was funny and
and wanted to swing chickens too.

Unfortunately, she was all out of chickens
but she did have lizards crawling up her patio
wall and said she would swing lizards instead.

It stuck, and the LWs having been swinging lizards
and all manner of critters ever since.

We mean no offense to anyone by saying
we are swinging lizards. We are sending love,
wishing all the best and thinking about
the person in their time of need.

Sure. OT is Off Topic and OP is Original Post or Original Poster. I think there's a link to board acronyms under the Help button top right of the screen.

LOL, oh I see.  I kind of like the term swinging lizards.  I had no idea what it meant.  Funnily enough, someone replied to me about something I wroteon another board weeks ago.  don't even remember what it was about now, but she said she was going to pray for me among other things.  I was a bit taken aback because I'm pretty sure my OP wasn't a particularly bleak one.

Still, I was polite and thanked her.  It is a much more common thing here than it is where I grew up (in UK)  Different strokes....
