So this may be a dumb question but... Why do people seem to be so snarky on the main forum. Everyone in the lightweight board are so pleasant but people on the other are quick to attack other posters. I don't get it. It seems like this is a place for support so why can't people just ignore the things that they don't like that people say. Unless it's an outright attack on someone or incorrect information they should just let it go. Ok I'm done complaining.

And by the way I just lurk and read so no one has attacked me.  I just see it a lot while reading posts for information.

People get gutsy when they can hide behind a computer screen and sometimes attacking someone else makes them feel better. Why I have no clue. Many feel they know more than others and are very opinionated. I stay away from there, people got hateful with me in the beginning (got downright nasty) so I have never gone back. Love these people here

I was very thankful I found this board very quickly after joining OH.  Had I made my decision to participate on some of the people's attitude on the main board, I would have most likely left.

I'm glad I found this "safe" board.  Tons of great information...nice veterans who seem to genuinely care.

These folks are wonderful.

If I go to the main board, it is by accident and I never stay there for long.  I love these guys and they have certainly made me feel at home and welcome.  We do have the lightweight creed and maybe that helps folks remember to act nice.

MB is doing a lot better these days re: the snarkiness and nastiness- the mods have been taking cleaning it up seriously.

Come check it out!!! Help it stay decent and safe and welcoming!

This board is a good one. But it keeps itself good...we have good people...we have leaders..
and we post our "creed" as often as possible. I also think it is good because we treasure a place where we can go as "lightweights" and not get scoffed at because we're not "fat enough"
So we have gotten lots of that pre and post op and we need a place where we can share and
feel supported no matter how thin we are now or how lightweight we were before surgery.
We welcome anyone who is undergoing this surgery...no matter the weight...
Anyhow there you go...that's my two cents.

And here's yet another reason why I love the lightweights board.  No nastiness in reply to my comments.  You guys are so chilled out.  It's fantastic.
