Blood Pressure? How low is too low?

I have been battling kidney stones for 2 days. This morning I was also having major cramps so I took some midol. I've felt really weak since yesterday. I decided I would get my blood pressure checked. In the past when it's been really low I felt like someone pulled my plug. This morning even in pain it was 92/51 and my pulse was 68. This is a far cry from the high blood pressure I used to battle everyday before surgery. How low is too low?? Is there anything I can do to feel better. Can dehydration cause lowered blood pressure?? Feeling not like myself that is for sure. Any advice is welcomed. No rest for the weary today. Daughter dancing at a festival at 1. Son is playing football today at 11:30. Mama's got to do what a mama's got to do. Hope yall have a happy weekend.

I wish I knew the answer to that, too.  My blood pressure has been as low as yours and no one seems concerned except to ask if it always runs low.  When I say yes then they don't seem worried.  All I have been told is to maybe add some salt to my diet.  I also get dizzy spells when I stand up fast.
One time I was in the hospital and the machine was taking my blood pressure and I asked the nurse what it was and she said "4".  Four what?  I wanted to know.   She just said "4".  It was something like 50/4.  I asked her if I was going to die.  Apparently she had given me the wrong dosage for a medication.  Instead of .25mg she gave me 25mg.  I really thought I was going to die.  No one at the hospital acted like it was a big deal but I was drifting out and I was afraid if I did I would die.  I even called 911 I was so scared.  I think they gave me something to counteract the medication and I was fine but I guess BP can get really low.

Your BP is low, but not dangerously so. Dehydration can cause low BP, as well as dizziness. If you are fighting kidney stones, hydration is very, very important. You should be drinking water like a fish, to help flush the stones and to raise your fluid volume, so that your BP will come up.

92/51 is definitely on the low side and can be due to dehydration.  I was told not to worry about my low blood pressure 90/60 normally 85/50 when in the hospital as long as I don't have symptoms - lightheadedness or dizziness.  If you do have symptoms, then you need to contact your PCP ASAP to get some IV fluids - it is very important.  Dehydration can be very dangerous.  In the meantime - just drink as much as you possibly can and you need to drink huge amounts for your kidney stones anyway - atleast 8-10 glasses per day. I am having my second kideny stone surgery on October 19th - can't wait -the pain is driving me crazy but they are too big to pass.

Good luck and keep drinking.
