Clothes
This might be a silly question, but I am having real problems with clothes shopping. At my highest weight I weighed 330 pounds (XXXL shirts). I always bought clothes that fit on the loose side. Now I am down 145 pounds and I don't know what size I should wear. I keep buying XL but I think it should probably be Large or maybe even Medium. A friend even told me to stop buying XL. Maybe I am afraid I will grow back into an XL size. Did any of you have trouble finding yourself in clothes that are smaller than you ever thought possible?
YES...
Okay, here's what to do if you are at goal or close to goal...find a Men's Warehouse and get fitted. Plan on buying ONE item, we bought a belt for my husband to see what size he was in a suit.
Too bad the belt is now too big but it was worth the money at the time cause we needed to find him a suit quickly. Found one at Goodwill and sent it back for someone else about a month later.
We all have body dismorphia...it is normal but don't believe what YOU see...others have a better idea of your real size.
I went shopping for blue jeans at one point, had been wearing a size 10, knew they were too big but figured an 8 or if I was lucky, a 6...turns out I needed a 4. Never would I have figured I had gotten that small.
Good luck

I know exactly what you are talking about. What I think fits me fine, people say that it's too big. I'm used to wearing loose clothes. I bought some 14's and people are telling me I should have bought 12's. I bought some size 12 jeans and I think they are too tight, but everyone else loves them and compliments me on them. I totally understand what you are saying. What I've found is that I have to try everything on and buy things that feel a little tight because in a couple weeks, they fit fine. Good luck.
I remember trying all different shirt sizes and thinking they ALL fit. So in the store I'd try a large, a medium and a small and think they were all fine. Then I figured it out:
The seam where the sleeve is attached to the body should hit just at the tend of your shoulders for ideal fit. If it hangs down past that onto your arm, the shirt is too big and, if it hits before that point (i.e., somewhere on the shoulders), it's too small.
Now, sometimes we have to wear something that is too big in the shoulder area so there is room for other body parts that are bigger than normal, like boobage an pot bellies, but the more you lose, the better your clothes should fit and the less that should be an issue.

I take it several sizes and now I have learned to try on the smallest size first..and it usually fits! So weird...still can't believe that I can wear a size 4 which are getting kind of big..lol..I agree with the suggestions you got before, go get fitted, if you go to a regular store take in a variety of sizes..and buy clothes that you think are a little snug..cause they probably aren't and you probably aren't done loosing yet...and check out a goodwill, I have found so many nice clothes at the goodwill its crazy! and cheap
I think many of us experience what you are talking about. My original goal was to get down to a size 10. I now have clothes ranging from size 10 to 0. I am officially a size 0 but didn't appreciate how thin I was until I was down to a size 2. I could never have imagined this. I now weigh less than I did in the second grade. I am now 60 yoa so second grade was a long time ago!
