Question about Stricture

Has anyone had a stricture? I'm almost 9 months out and I am experiencing problems but I'm not sure if it's normal. I get sharp pains after I swallow sometimes. I thought it was because the bite was too big but I'm not sure. I also get nauseous after I've eaten sometimes. I know it's the right amount or less than what I should. I feel the food as it travels down to my stomach and sometimes it feels like it's just sitting below my rib cage. Then I stop eating but it's not 1/2 cup of food yet. I thought about going to the Dr but I don't want to waste money if it's natural. Any suggestions?

It could be a small kink in your intestines or a small blockage trying to get a hold. You should document what you're doing and how you're feeling each time it occurs and get an appointment with your surgeon if it keeps reoccurring or gets worse. Sometimes they just say rest it by doing liquids for a few days but they need to know you're having issues this far out. Please keep us posted.

Everything  you describe sounds like eating either too much or too fast or not chewed enough. You may very well just not be able to eat 1/2 a cup of certain foods at 9 months out. That may be a typical amount for most but everyone is different. Plus, what kinds of food you eat and how well you chew also impact the amount you can eat.

With a stricture, you can't keep down food or drink most of the time. The symptoms are different.

OK, I've just heard so much about strictures that I thought that could be it. I will watch how fast I'm eating and the size of my bites and how long I chew. I know it's not eating too much because I'm still dealing with my problem of eating too little. Its a mental problem with me, not wanting to over eat. I'm trying to get 1/2 cup of food in for lunch and dinner. I'm still doing my 1/4 cup high protein snacks. Thanks for the advice.
