WEll, I got the call!! THE CALL.   I was not prepared for it, and honestly I hadn't called the insurance or the Dr's office because I was prepared for a DENIAL.  Being 5'5" 226lbs and no supportfrom my PCP I thought I was dead in the water.  But THANK GOD I am APPROVED!!   I'd be jumping up and down had I not twisted my knee at work yesterday and jacked it up. Now I have to figure out how much time to request off from work, and since my job is so demanding (I work in a men's prison, and currently in the special housing unit so I am up and down stairs lifting their food trays and everything for 8 hours a day) I hope I have enough time to take! Keep sending your good thoughts my way as I figure all these details out. OH!!! The details!! LOL I am scheduled for Nov. 3rd with pre-op on Oct. 28th at Orlando Regional. I was hoping for Ocala, but I'll take what I can get.   YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO you have a roving patrol? If so what would be the chances you could switch posts for a few weeks? What is the possibility of working the control room? Just some thoughts. Good luck CONGRATS!

Stacey - We do have a roving patrol, and control, and a few other cushie jobs (if any job at a prison could be called such) lol. However, those posts are bid on every 3 months.  I couldn't knock someone out of their bidded post. I bid on my post for the hours and days off. It's not the best post - working with the worst of them- but I stay busy and the days go by quickly.  However, for recovery purposes it's going to be rough.  I may just have to go leave without pay if things get rough. Praying I recover well. I've had two c-sections...hoping this isn't any worse. Thank you all for your encouragement! I'll be asking many questions from here on out I'm certain. :)
