I wasn't aware that calcuim deposits was a sign of DS.  I figured it probably needed to be determined by genes.  Anyway, the thing to remember about DS is that there are lots of almost normal IQ folks out there with DS who live happy and productive lives.  Yes, they have challenges but we all do.  I know it is scarey to think that anything might be wrong with a little one but there is lots scareier than DS.
Prayers going out to all of you.

Jen and I have both worked with DS students and we both know that our families will adapt as needed and he will be very loved, but it's such an awful thing to hear.

Hi Roz,
I have been in your shoes searching the internet, stressing and worrying about my daughter having a down's syndrome baby.  She too had the shiny light on the babies heart.  Roz,  I stressed all those months and with my family for nothing.  She had a very healthy baby.  And also, my hairdresser had the same scare and had a perfectly healthy baby.  I guess it's okay to prepare - but it's not a done deal, such a slim chance.  My daughter had to have sooooo many sonograms too.  So relax and try to put it out of your mind and believe you will have a healthy grand baby.  Everything will be fine.

My first menu posting as today is my first day of any food (7days post op).

Breakfast:  1/2 egg made into egg salad w/low fat mayo and mustard
Lunch:        1 oz cottage cheese
Dinner:       1 oz pea soup
Protien:       52 grams (I hope I can do it)

Thank You...it's nice to know someone who has been through this.  You are new to the board so you don't know about my DD losing her last baby at 4 months.  It was a terrible ordeal and she went into major depression. Now with this one she has been bleeding and has been on bed rest.  This just came at a time when she is very stressed and overwhelmed by so many things.

Sounds good for your first day!!   Just take it slow and do the best you can do!  I ate a lot of bean/bacon soup at the beginning to help get my protein in.

Roz,
I know how stressed you all may be.  I'm going to say a prayer for you and your family.  This is out of our control and we must trust in the  Lord.

Thanks for the tip on the bean bacon soup - sounds good.  I just had my lunch 1 oz greek yogurt with SF torani raspberry syrup and a bit of nutrasweet - yummy.

Thanks!!  I've calmed down a lot this afternoon.  I honestly could feel the Prayers coming our way.

I'm glad you enjoyed the greek yogurt because it is a great protein.   It sounds like you are adjusting well.  I can't wait to hear all of your WOW's!!!

Roz,
What brand of bean and bacon soup did you like?  Do I need to put it in the blender?  Could I just ma**** up with a fork real good?  We are in the process of moving and I have no idea where the blender is.  Reminder:  I'm 7 days post op and thinking about your soup

Roz, I have no idea what you and you daughter are going through but sending prayers of healing as well as peace......I know when I feel dread and anxiety, having some feeling of peace can help me cope.
