A Recipe For Failure
Are nut butters a dumping ground for you?
I put on some weight recently, to see what the weight gain would need to be to have a bit of breast back and my go to densely caloric bomb is my equivalent of a peanutbutter cup.
I mix 32 onces of nut butter (used to use Naturally More because it had more protein, but recently went on a no sugar added deal and now use almond butter because there are no sweetners)
with 1 packet of sweetner
7 g of Hershey Special Dark Cocoa Powder.
smoosh this together in a glass bowl, it becomes fudgey, then I roll it up in a slice of havarti.
this I tend to eat after an ounce or so of lean protein so it isnt just a sweet something hitting my system and teaching my Trix we can just eat sweets, but its about a 330ish calorie treat.
Course, you can tweak the calories up and down using different types of cheeses, but havarti goes really well paired with something sweet, but provolone, mozz, muenster also work. Actually, sharp cheddar also works if you run out of everything else :} but for most calorically dense and most delicious to me - Havarti is the cheese of choice for me.
Sorry for their ignorance.

I am thinking I do dump on higher amounts of fats after drinking the shake last night made with a cup of 1/2 and 1/2. What really upsets me is that I went about a year with only dumping once or twice, because of accidental sugar intake, and since I have been trying to regain some weight I have dumped several times because of too many carbs or fat or natural sugar. I have to be very careful about the amounts I take in. I am realizing that I am probably going to have to eat more often then I am comfortable with in order to regain and I hate that because it has me thinking about food more often and planning all the time. I was in a comfortable place where my meals were planned out and I was happy with the amount and frequency and now I have to change all that and find a new comfort level. The good thing is that I realize that once I get it down it should become my new normal.

"Eat small amounts of food all day long. Some people find it easier to eat 6 small meals throughout the day.
Keep snacks near your bed, television or wherever you rest during the day.
Uh, isn't that what got me needing WLS in the first place."
Actually, no, this isn't what got us fat. It was eating more calories than we burned. If you need to eat more than 1000-1200 calories a day to maintain a good weight, you really can't do that with 3 meals and (maybe) 1 snack a day.
I consume 2000 calories a day on average. There is no way to do this without eating every 2 hours. I can only eat about 200-400 calorie per "meal" unless I want to eat unhealthy food and over-stuff my sleeve. The only way to get 2000 calories a day is to eat 6 to 10 times a day. So I do. And I've been maintaining my weight for 2+ years now.
Most of the rest of the advice (like drinking milkshakes) was dumb but eating more often is good advice.
Drinking calories is also good advice if you are wasting away. But instead of fruit juices and milk shakes that make you dump, you can drink protein shakes, soy milk (unsweetened), etc. Also, eating a lot of slider foods like soup.
