x post - vison loss after surgery?
I am a week out. I'm waiting for a referral to a local opthamologist. I have wet AMD in my left eye and lost all central vision in it because it was not seen to in time. Well it was but the guy was incompetent and I didn't now what it was at the time.
I am having problems all of a sudden in my right eye. I don't know if it's wet AMD starting in that eye too or if this is just some temporary effect from the shock of surgery and low calories. There is a shimmering arc on the right side of my vision which as I write is fading away right now. I noticed the arc on my upper peripheral view yesterday, so this seems to come and go.
When I looked at my amsler grid a few mins ago I had a problem but right now it seems to have gone again. Which is a big relief at least for now.
Did anyone else have temporary issues with vision like this?
I really really don't want this to be wet AMD.

I am a week out as well. My near vision is absolutely horrible - can't read texts, books, nothing up close & small. General opinion has been that it is a side effect of anesthesia. I have a follow up appointment with surgeon tomorrow so I will ask him.
Good luck!

Thank god for google. Should have looked it up first. It turns out what I am experiencing is called an occular migraine. I get loads of migraines esp. this past week. It's been horrible, but this one is painless and seems like it's harmless too.
I'm still going to opthamologist because I'm overdue for a check up but it's such a relief.
