I don't know why I am so hungry this week. It needs to stop. I got to take this bull by the horns. My husband has gone to night shift and I am still not sleeping like I should. My mom says I am hungrier because of lack of sleep but I do not want to gain weight. I need to kick some serious carb butt! Went to the grocery store tonight and picked up some greek yougart and some nuts for school. School seems to be my down fall and early afternoons.  Cinderella will never give up these glass slippers! It is time to shut that carb door and bring the HAMMER down!
Nothing tastes as good as this feels!

I gained large amounts of weight working night shift and yes - sleep deprivation tends to equal hunger in people and carbohydrate craving.

Are you *also* exercising extra hard because school is stressing you?  Because sleep deprivation PLUS working out harder could equal hungrier, most definitely.

What I do, when I identify "arsenic hours" (the times that are dangerous) is make sure that I schedule the most dense filling thing I can for those times (if there are a few hours in succession) so that even if my mouth is munchy or my head is hongries, my tum is still processing my dense safety meal!  For me beef seems to stick around longer than anything else.

Good luck girlie!

I know it is different for all of us but greek yogurt, even with protein added, goes straight through me.  It doesn't stop my hunger at all and if fact, I use it when I need to add some more protein, don't really want another shake but have only a short time to the next meal.  If it is early afternoons, maybe be sure your noon meal is dense protein and you have a high protein snack for early afternoon.

My hard time seems to be evenings and I have a 4:00 meal, 7:00 meal and a protein shake before bed at 9:30.  I can't really say I am hungry during that time.  I just want to eat, hungry or not.

I find that an ounce of cheese  (I eat Cabot 75% reduced fat cheddar) keeps the hunger away if I eat it an hour before the times I know I'll be starving.

Don't underestimate the sleep as well.
