i have my appt with the NUt tomorrow, i must admit i am a bit nervous about meeting her.. i don't want to end up with a NUT who is very insensitive or just a royal ***** !

i was having some doubts at first about having the WLS but after going to the required support group meeting and taking to alot of you on here i have decided that it is whats for the best for me and i know that my whole lifestyle from A-Z will change and i am 100000% ready for that ! it's either do this now or i'm only going to get heavier and unhealthier and i have two young children and wonderfull husband who want/need their mother/wife around for a very long time and i want to be around for a very long time !

i guess another one of my fears about the NUT is that she won't explain things clearly enough and i'll have to keep asking for clarifications all the time.

so wish me luck tomorrow and i'll update how it goes when i get home ...

You'll be fine and maybe the smartest person in the room. lol  Smile and nod if she gets all carby or anti protein shake on you.

Hopefully you'll get some written material too so you can take it home and study it.

It can be hard to remember everything they tell you and even everything you read so be sure to refer to it often.

Good luck tomorrow.

Hopefully she will give you info to take home and study later because it can be a bit overwhelming.  I have a binder that I put all my info in and I still refer back to it sometimes.

Let us know how it goes.

Make sure to take a pen and a notebook with you.  Ask lots of questions and ask for her email address so you can clarify things if you are confused about something later on.  There are SO many different after surgery diet recommendations and many of them are complete opposites depending on your NUT.  Some say NO carbs and some say you have to include whole grains.  Some push 90 grams of protein and others look for 60.  Take it with a grain of salt.  And good luck!

Good luck Tanya.
If you need clarifications, don't worry about asking for them.  It is better to ask questions now, rather than having an issue because you didn't ask any questions.
