I'm home
everything went fine. I hurt like hell - to be expected. I've got a pump and a drip that I need to empty. Trying to follow all my rules. But I must do something about the calcium chewables. They burn the hell off my tongue. (bariatric advantage cinnamon)
My tongue is in a git of a mess. May have got damaged as they put th e tube down. I got short changed on pain meds the day after surgery. (She forgot to bring them and then when I got them at 3pm the day after my surgery I had a violent migraine which the meds did nothing for. Finally got the right thing at 3am this morning.
My back is sore from the bed moving and puffing up to stop clots. Glad to be home.
Anyway, in terms of surgery itself it went good. But I've had the hiccups ever since. Looking forward to feeling better.
Now understand what another poster meant when she said she felt like she'd been hit by a train. Hopefully each day will get better.
Try your calcium chews crushed into protein shakes. If you're on clears for a couple of more days, just wait until you're on full liquids and crush the calcium into a shake. They should go well with vanilla or chocolate.

If you tongue stays bad, look at it and see if it is white, you may have thrush. Not uncommon after surgery. Dr can get you a script for it. It will also make everything taste awful so it's a good reason to get it cured.
Yes, you will feel like you have been hit by a big truck but it gets better pretty quickly. walk, sip, rest, repeat. Welcome home.
