Pouch size RNY

Hello all,  I'm curious about pouch size and portion size.  I was told the pouch is about 1oz post op and given a guideline about it's size over the 1st year.  I'm eating very soft foods 1oz every other hour, but have eaten more a few times with no issues.  The tech during my leak test mentioned my pouch was larger, I suspect it has something to do with my revision from lapband.

As our pouches get larger is that the volume of food we should be able to eat?  Am I able to eat more than 1oz at 2 weeks because the food is soft or my pouch is larger?

When we started on food, pureed, it was 1/4c., that is about 2 oz and I could eat that from the beginning.  When we went to more solid food it was 1/4c protein, 1/4c cooked veggies.  I can eat about a cup of most things most days.  It isn't really that your pouch gets larger, but that the swelling goes down and the pouch seems larger.

I think the size we can eat really depends on the person and the surgeon....personally I can still only eat about 1/4 cup to 1/5 cup of dense foods..softer foods 1/2 cup to 1 cup, and liquid like soup more than a cup depending on whats in it..at first though, I FELT like I could eat a lot more than I can do..I didn't really "feel" my stomach for the first 3 months of surgery..that is why its so important to measure your food early out and not to over do it....you had a major surgery where nerves may have been cut not to mention the swelling in your stomach. I think you will have a better feel of the size of your pouch in a couple of months.
