Hi, I found you!

Hey, I accidentally found this group.    I had someone tell me a while back on the RNY board that I was a lightweight and asked me what I was doing there.  I just shrugged it off and wished I hadn't put up my ticker with my weight etc.  Had no idea there was a lightweight board, DUH!

So let me introduce myself.  My name is Elizabeth, I live in sunny southern California.  I am 57 years old, 5 feet tall and 211 pounds.  My surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday, September 20, 2011.  I will be traveling 2 hours to San Diego to have my surgery with my husband of 39 years.  Like you, I have tried everything but the RNY surgery to reach a healthy weight.  I'm a bit nervous but more excited to get the show on the road!

Glad I found you!

Welcome to the Lightweight Board. You will find this board is filled with great information and very supportive people. I can't speak for everyone, but I know I was nervous, especially the night before surgery. I barely slept, but figured I would "catch" up on the sleep I didn't get while I was in surgery.

glad you are here now! I know I was extremely nervous for a couple of days before surgery..I think we all go through that, luckily you don't have much more time left to wait! Make sure you bring some comfortable things for the ride home..like maybe a small blanket and pillow..2 hours is a long drive home..

Welcome aboard! This is a wonderful, supportive place to hang out, as I have found out in the 2 days I've been here!

I love me my RNY! I know you will, too. Plus your husband sounds supportive.

Looking forward to getting to know you better!

Hi Elizabeth. I started my weight loss journey with about the same stats as you, and it's the best thing I ever did for myself.  My surgery was the VSG instead of RNY; you'll probably lose weight faster than me with your RNY.

This forum is extremely supportive.  I like that you don't have to be afraid to speak up or ask questions here.

Welcome.  You'll find a lot of "little" people here, short at least and in various stages of getting little.

It's normal to be anxious but we are here to support you through the journey.

Hi Elizabeth!  Best of luck to you as you start this journey.  Our age and stats are pretty close and I could not wait to get the show on the road either!  It has been an amazing ride and I am so happy I got the surgery!  It has totally changed my life and the way I feel both emotionally and physically and it will yours, too!  Welcome aboard!
