Ok im less than one week out now
From my surgery and it seems like all I can focus on now is all the food commercials and food channels and the funny thing is it does not make me want to run out an chow down it makes me so sad cause I know im not going to be able to eat that huge steak dinner, all those ribs along with veggies, taters and desert after LOL
Never in my life would I of thought I would think like that, But then I come back to reality saying thats exactly why I need this surgery cause all I did was eat to much of anything in front of me and would hurt so bad after from over eating and eating to fast not to mention weight gain.
I have been on this 800 cal a day diet now since last week Fri, so far so good, lost 7 lbs so far so im almost there.
Its going to be that 4 week of liquids before I get the soft foods thats going to be tough after surgery
Which surgery are you having? The after surgery part wil be tough. I'm thinking about that, too. But hopefully, I won't be that hungry so it won't really matter what I'm putting in my body (I'm doing my pre-reqs for RNY)... that's about the only way I can think about it now and stay sane!
You've done it for a week, so you're half way there!!

Not much longer now. Hang tough!

So I go for my last visit Monday the 12th and will get them. They are choices of soups, nectars, shakes, fruit drinks etc all of 70 to 100 calories each.
After reviewing everything on the list to pick, I found that most can be mixed with fat free lactaid milk and the nectars are 100 calories with 23 grams of protein where all the othes are only 15 grams.
So im going with the highest calories and highest protein cause by the time I mix it with the lactaid that will give me 8 more grams of protein.
I figure 4 drinks of 32 grams of protein a day is much better than 4 with 23 grams plus I get more calories.
All input appreciated
I know I was suppose to be on full liquids for the four weeks after surgery (clear the first 2 and regular after that). If I had stayed on that I would not have left the bathroom for a month. I was eating mushies at 3 weeks out and on regular food by 4-6. I've been eating normal since 6 weeks out, altho my doctor's office thinks I just advanced to regular unrestricted diet just in the last three weeks. But I've been unrestricted since 6 weeks out of surgery.
I just ate one new food at a time so I could see if it upset me.
