Back to the Sleep Doc

Wish me luck - I go back to the sleep doctor tomorrow.  My sleep apnea appears to be much worse since I had my surgery, and the pulmonologist wants to check it out.  I hope I don't have to have another sleep study!

Tell them it's not supposed to work like that!

I hope the tests come out fine with the sleep doc and pulmonologist. I'll be swinging lizards for you.

That's exactly what my bariatric surgeon said.

I have to go back in another week.  The doc couldn't read the SIM card from the CPAP machine.  They didn't believe it could be worse....

lost 80 lbs, got to goal, and sleep apnea got worst,  just like the skin on the outside gets loose so does the skin in your throat, you may need to see a ent to fix that. or just a higher cipap number.  i went with a higher setting. one more inch of pressure.

Thank you so much for the information. I do feel like I'm choking when I wake up, and I borrowed a finger tip pulse oximeter.  When I wake up in the night, my oxygen is very low, so I'll keep pushing the sleep doc.

fortunately my PCP is also a pulmonist  and runs the sleep center in two hospitals, so getting sleep studies is no issue.  i had sleep apnea before I got fat, my reflux caused the apnea, which contributed to the weight gain, if your tired you gain wight.
