Guys,I seriously need some help here-Adrenal fatigue diagnosis
I actually went to this dr.fot bioidentical hormones. She does saliva testing and the panel imcluded checking cortisol, the fight or flight hormone produced by the adrenal glands.
She showed me a flow chart representing all my hormones aaand my cortisol was a flat line!!!! My adrenall glands are WORN OUT!. They are producing NOTHING!
She started me on two supplemrnts for that plus the appropriate hormone cream.
Since I started them both I hav e felt worse than before. Seriously depressed,so depressed I strted back on my ntidepressant that I had weaned off of since May. Also, extremee fatigue, foggy brain, difficulty getting up in the morning aaand a host of other symptoms. The hormone situation is exactly as it was before I strted the cream.
Sshe ws away for the long weekend,so I will talk to her tomorrow, but my question is have you or anyone you know dealt with adrenal fatigue?
Gina,or vitalady, know of anything I could add to the Adrenoset and Adrenogen she has me on?
Thanks all,
H

Hello,
I have not heard of adrenal fatigue before but then I imagine it's something not to take too lightly if this is the diagnosis. A good endocrinologist should be able to test you properly and assist you.
I have a tumour on my left adrenal gland that has been there for about 4 years now. I have CAT Scans each year to measure the size of it as they don't operate on them until they reach about 6cm (just over 2"). It is benign but it has started to grow a little over the last couple of years so we are watching it closely now. The only problem I find is that most of the time I'm extremely tired and this could be from the activity of tumour.
Take care

I know I have issues with self-produced cortisol . I also imagine cortisol could be like insulin .. that is we produce enough of it for enough years the body's rece[tors themselves become desensitized and eventually the organ of production ( the pancreas in the case of insulin ) shuts down .
I dont have any answers but im going to look in my alternative textbooks and Ayurvedic and Chinese herbal medicine texts also ...
