Good Morning. Where's your daddy?

OT: Yesterday DH spent and hour on the phone with our 2 year old grand baby...she had gotten hold of Son#1's cell phone and managed to redial the last number dialed. I'm sure he just thought she was pretending to talk like she sees adults doing all the time. DH couldn't bring himself to hang up. lol  He was listening and occasionally would say, "um hm, that's nice... where's your daddy"? I never knew my DH had such patience!  After a time he put her on speaker so we all could hear...Most of what she had to say was in baby talk Chinese, so it was quite...interesting.   I think she will grow up to be a corporate executive.

Ok, your turn. Please share a totally off topic story with us and have a great Sunday.

Yesterday, since the trailer was still packed with cart and harness, Chili and I went to the Biltmore Estate.  It was only the second time I've taken him but he has grown mentally so much lately, I had no doubts he would be fine.  It was hot, even though we finished our drive around noon, the temp signs were 90, which is really hot for us.  Other than the heat, everything was great.  We took the long road by the river, following it for several miles.  I was surprised at how few folks were both there riding and were on the river.  I had figured the river would be full of canoes and kayacks but we only passed one group.  That road is mostly shaded but when we could come out from the trees, you could really feel the sun.  I am so ready for fall.  It was good to be in the woods, out by the river again.  It is so peaceful and is great theropy for me, clearing my brain.  I think Chili enjoyed being some place different too.  Thursday we leave for our camping trip in Tennessee.

Sounds like a wonderful day, Price. I'm sure you and Chili enjoyed ever minute. I would love to get back to the Smokies to see the leaves at their peak. Wonderful memories...

Our granddaughter is 2 1/2, and I totally get what you guys experienced.  I only understand about 50% of what she expresses, but I always want her to feel that her thoughts are important; so I try to respond appropriately.  That's not always easy.

Last week I realized I only had 1 pair of long pants that fit, and don't really have the right cothes for important meetings at work.  So I was off to look for Labor Day clearance sales.  I found the best buys, and Sears was the best.  I found a good name brand, purple winter coat for just $13.  I'll look like Barney, but I couldn't pass it up.  Every now and then I think Sears is underrated; some of their stuff is pretty darn good.

Something totally off topic....I have too many to even think. I believe the best one was the other day my6 yr old....( Bright red hair blue eyes super pale skin) was sitting in an indian style legs crossed position, with eyes closed, holding his arms out with his thumb and forefinger together. (kinda a meditation pose) When we asked him what on earth he was doing his response was " I am trying to see God so I can talk to him face to face"
It was SOOO CUTE! Really made my night.

I have the greatest time playing "hide and seek" with my grandchildren on Skype. They hide under the desk and I have to ask, "Are you in the kitchen? Are you in the bathroom? etc." They love that I can "search" for them and then they jump up from under the desk and I say, "There you are!" Then it's my turn to hide and I have to be out of sight of the camera.

I really miss them so very much now that they live half way across the country. I was blessed to help my daughter for 3 months as she was so sick with morning/all-day sickness this spring and summer. I'll cherish the time the kids and I had together because I know it created a great bond with us across the miles. I'll be with them when the baby is born too at the end of October for a month since it is a planned c-section.

I was able to spend about 5 hours yesterday with my daughter and grandbaby.  Its been 2 months since I saw her last and its SO hard when she doesn't recognize me. After awhile she warmed up nicely, but she's quite sociable anyway.

After they left I went shopping for a new wallet and decided to walk around the clothes.  I'd LOVE a new black skirt and tried on maybe 10 of them... last year they would have fit without any issues, this year I've put some weight on and its redistributed down to my hips and legs, so... any skirt that fits me in the butt/legs is WAY too big in my waist and vice versa.  I even tried flared skirts... I think I need elastic in the waist now.  It is getting frustrating...  so, what's my options?  LOSE THE WEIGHT IN THE BUTT/LEGS!!!

or do what Stacy and Clinton say on What Not to Wear... buy what fits your hips and have the waist taken in by a tailor.  It's supposed to be the easiest and cheapest way to make clothes look awesome and custom made.  then again...you have to find a tailor!

no grandkids for my off topic but I'll share what my niece said when she was 2.  She was looking out the window of the car and saw the moon.  She said "moon."  Then the car moved and she looked out again and said "another moon!".  We still laugh at that one.

Her other expression that has stuck for the last 19 years is something she said after playing a little too hard with her food while in the high chair.  She made a complete mess and must have realized she was "in trouble" because she cried "Wabba do do."  Translation:  the water did it,  As in, I am innocent.  To this day we say wabba do do whenever we are clumsy and spill something.
