I'm in Onederland!!!!
I had my one month check up a little early, and my official weight is in onederland
. Since I started this journey, I have lost 45 lbs. I really respect my surgeon and we had a nice discussion about many different things, so when he challenged me to stop walking, and start running every day, I almost fell off the chair. (I'm over 55, and still obese so running wasn't in my vocabulary). We negotiated, and agreed that I should be swimming everyday for an hour. Now to find a pool.....

Congratulations!!!! I am 57 and just started Spinning classes about 6 weeks ago. I was so intimidated to try it, but finally challenged myself, and I am beginning to really enjoy it. The classes are challenging and are always different. You may end up running at some point in time, especially as the weight comes off. Swimming would be awesome. I would encourage you to start weight training, so that you can maintain and build some muscle. It will help your metabolism and help to stave off osteoporosis.

Oh hurray. I know you are thrilled. And not even a month out yet.
While I do agree with upping the exercise (not that I have with my knee) I would lean towards something other than running just because it is so hard on your joints. I loved it when I was running but my hips didn't. My knees can barely take walking now. The key is to find something you enjoy and do it regularly.
