Genie Bra
I really, really hate wearing bras. No matter what kind I have tried they are always uncomfortable on me. The first time I do when I walk through my door is whip off the bra. If I didn't have such sorry things on my chest I would never wear one. I completely understand the bra burning movement.
I heard you guys talk about the Ahhh Bra but I checked it out and it was a little to spendy for me. Being that I buy most of my bras and stuff at thrift stores anything over $5 seems like a lot.
I then saw one of those infomercials for the Genie bra. They were a lot cheaper but with the shipping it was like $80 for six bras.
Then I was doing something on the computer and I saw an ad for the Genie bra for $39.95 for six so I checked it out and with shipping it came out to about $10 each. Not bad but I hate that you have to buy 6 of them. Anyway I decided to bite the bullet (I am a natural born cheapie) and I ordered them and they came today.
Before I bought them I checked out the reviews and they were pretty mixed. Some love them, some hate them. One thing I did find though was that many people recommended getting a smaller size for more support so I did. I wear a size 34DD so I thought I would get a medium but I got the XS/S and they fit great. A little tight but I feel like it is really holding the girls up. I also like the fact that they don't look like bras so it's ok if the straps show. It is almost like a have a cami or tank top on.
So far they are working for me. No 100% comfortable but better then what I had on before it. It feels a little tight but maybe it will stretch a bit. I do feel supported, though.
My verdict? If you don't want to spend the money on the Ahhh Bra this may be an acceptable substitution. They are about half the price and from what I could see they look pretty much the same. I would also think they would have been good during the weight loss transition period when I was shrinking in sizes. It would have saved me having to buy some bras as I think they would probably work through a few different sizes. When I was in the weight loss phase I always bought things a little tights so I could get more wear out of them so if you get these get them smaller then you think you need. The way they size them is they recommend you order whatever your shirt size is. For me that would have been a L so that didn't work. I am glad I didn't get anything bigger. Any bigger and they might be looser but maybe not as much support.

I've been thinking about something more like a sports bra. If you are wearing a XS/S and you are a 34DD, what on earth will I need? I'm a 34B that probably needs an A these days.

The XS/S would probably work for you. Like I said, this is a bit tight. It wouldn't have killed me to get a M but I was worried about support since the girls are so heavy and sagging. With a B cup you probably don't need as much support so you should be fine.
I tried wearing sports bras but I didn't like them. Too heavy and not enough support. These are very thin but they seem to be strong.

Thanks for the post and the picture. I've seen the infomercial and wondered about them myself. I bought something similar at Fashion Bug but it doesn't do much for the girls. It is like a tank top (that part is good because it works like a cheap version of Spanx for my torso. It has underwire in front. But it doesn't really conceal the nipples when I wear a shirt and it is very hot since it is another layer-something we definitely don't need in Florida. I think I will order the Genie.
