Us east coast folks are getting ready to be slammed HARD by Hurricane Irene. She is proposed to be a cat 4 by the time she hits the outerbanks. Everyone out there please be careful. We will be buggin out if she doe**** that strength and I probably will not have internet access but will have my cell on me.

For all those who dont know, I am only 1 hour from the outer banks, anything that hits them, hits us and this will be massive. (Just added) I am sure this will be a bad one, my usual squirrels have disappeared!! I cant FIND any and I feed them every morning!!!

East Coasters, are you ready?
Enough water for at least 2 weeks, 1 gallon for every person in the home
Candles
Lanterns
Camp stoves
Non perishable foods
Flash lights
Batteries
Grill
More water
Anything that you believe you will need
Emergency meds
Protein and a way to mix it. (I am buying RTD Pure Protein Shakes)
Vitamins
Home owners info!!

People if she hits be prepared for the worst.

Is there something I am missing do i need more?

Stacey,

I'm in Florida (we are prepared) and I guess we dodged a bullet with Irene.  I'll swing lizards that you will be safe.  If there is still time, you may want to buy a battery operated desk fan.  When Wilma hit us, that was one of the things I relied on most with no electricity.  Big black garbage bags  to protect things from water and tarps in case you need them.

Wishing you the best.

I grew up in Florida so we prepared for storms.  Put away or tie down everything outside.  Wash clothes now while you have power and water.  Fill the bathtubs with water for flushing toilets.  Gas up every vehicle. maybe a new game for the kids to keep them occupied with no power.

Good luck.  We are far enough inland that we may not even see any rain.  Ya never know.

I agree.  If you are anywhere near the projected path of this storm, duck and cover.

Heck, get out of Dodge if the order is given to evacuate.

Not liking the looks of Irene either. If you guys have to evacuate and need a place to hang out, let me know. We have plenty of room.
