Good Morning. Got a pic of your surgeon?

Dr. Deveney, AKA Satan on the DS board. He has a bad (and probably justified) reputation as far as doing the DS but he is a very good surgeon. He is the head of the division of general surgery and I don't think they would make him the head if he were a bad surgeon. He is a nice guy, always pretty busy. Last time I saw him he was in and out in about 2 minutes. He generally doesn't do my follow up. His NP does and she is pretty, well, in my opinion, ignorant as far as post op needs go. She is the one *****commends Flintstones and is freaked out by my high vitamin D. At a whopping 87.
OHSU has a poor bariatric program as far as pre op education and post op care. Knowing what I know now I would probably have gone somewhere else but in 2002 I didn't really know better and I went where my PCP referred me.

This is a picture of "Dr G", as Dr Antanavicius is known. He is really much more personable than his picture shows, and a great surgeon. He often utilizes the DaVinci robot in his laproscopic surgeries, and recovery has been smooth sailing for me. I recommend him (and the entire staff at the IMBS in Abington) to anyone in the Philly area. As we all know, it's important to have an excellent staff in the office to help with all the questions we have, in addition to a superior surgeon.
