Protein Ice Bars

Just wanted to give everyone (especially my soon to be surgery friends) a heads up.  Wal-Mart has a Hamilton Beach popsicle makers (freezes pops in about 10 mins) on clearance.  I got one for $15.00- (I have no idea what they normally are priced. Put a bright read clearance sticker on anything and I fall into that trap that I can't live without it.)

Anyway, mixed unflavored protein powder and crystal light.....10 mins...frozen goodie!

I look forward to having this after surgery next week!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL GOING THIS WEEK!

I would love this but I read the review and someone posted that you can't use sugar free liquids....have you tried with success???

Oh I love love love this idea!  I am placing an order this weekend for some unflavoured protein powder.  What kind did you get and do you like it?  Not sure which brand to use...it's so hard to use anything with a gritty feel to it (makes me gag).  I've also thought that trying  those fruit drinks that have protein in them from BA or Bariatric Pantry might make good ice pops.

I have'nt tried the protein like the OP but I used cran grape, mio water enhancer and true lemon with a half pack of equal and a slice of lemon.

When usin the true lemon, make sure to eye ball your pops as it freezes..say about 6 or 7 minutes.

Make sure to freeze the unit over night before use.

When using the pop up tool, place silver bar of the tool in the hole and turn and it seperates the pops from the base. My children and I just love this unit.

I was going to give away the second one I have but I think I'm going to keep it for myself. The 15.00 price was soo godd, I bought the last 2 on the shelf.
