Tanya what are the stats on the water? What type of protien is it? I don't know what your surgery type is or will be but as a rny'r I need to use whey isolate because it is the most readily absorbed...I know the powders can get expensive and there are so many options...I purchase my tub powders like syntax nectar at vitamin shoppe and can return it if I don't like it or you can try samples from vitalady and various other online shops to see if you'll like something first....I could be wrong but I imagine that those waters have very little protein in them and when you compare quality, quantity, and cost the tubs will be less expensive in the long term....

not sure what type of protein the special K ones are..but I do know im comparison they have very little actual protein...I would recommend getting sample packets if you can that way you can see what you like after your surgery..your tastebuds will likely change so I don't know how much sampling I would do now..

It's been awhile since I checked out the Special K protein drinks so I went to their website.  In my opinion you would have to drink a lot of flavored water during the day to make the protein numbers high but your body wouldn't absorb much of it.   Plus side is that you would be getting a lot of water in but then on the other hand you would have to eat a lot to get your Protein requirements in.

Buy some Protein samples from VitaLady.com or go to a local GNC or Vitamin Shop who allows you to return them if you don't like them (with receipt) and keep trying until you find one that you like.

I drink at least 100 grams of Protein a day (usually more)  and it costs me about $75.00 a month for Protein but when I compare that to  the Pepsi, candy bars, potato chips, cakes, donuts, etc. that I bought during a month then I'm way under budget.  One 20 oz. Diet Pepsi, One candy bar, and one bag of chips adds up to approx. $4.39 per day = $136.09 per month.

And what do I do with the savings??  Buy Size 2/4 Clothes!!!!!!!!!   My Protien is worth every penny!!!

Here are the Stats that I found:  K20 mix that you put in water

The Kellogg's Protein Water utilizes whey isolates, which is a fine type of protein, and well absorbed.  The others are right, there are only 5 grams of protein in one of the pouches, so it makes a lot of sense to get your protein from other sources.

I get really tired of the protein shakes, so I will occasionally have a Kellogg's Protein Water as a nice change to get some more fluid in.  I did have some trouble with acid stomach, so I had to give that up.

I don't understand why they change either, but they definitely do!   Everything tasted extremely salty, sweet, sour etc.  I couldn't even eat popsicles afterwards.  I still have trouble with cherry and grape.  At the beginning I bought GNC "Any Way" unflavored Protein.  I put into practically everything I ate...soups, puddings, jello, crystal lite, hot chocolate, oatmeal, etc.

I'd order samples but wait for several weeks afterwards to try them.  My favorite is the Syntrax Lemon Tea.  Although I can drink it plain, I add flavors to it.... Like crystal lite and my new favorite Nio.  Every drink can have a different taste.

GNC will let you return anything you open and don't like as long as you have a receipt.  I'd check to see how many days their return policy is for.

I use things like Special K protein water as a way to get in a little extra protein from something I'm drinking anyway (water) but I don't count it when I am trying to figure out how to get all my protein in.

I love the special K lemonade and it was a good thing for me to drink early out as water did not sit right in the morning during my first months post op.   It is only 5 grams but I figure it adds in to my day.....this is NOT at all where I count on getting my protein but I do not like crystal light and enjoy drinking this instead of water sometimes.  I add one to 24 oz on H2O most mornings at work and it is gone in an hr or so.  I still love protein coffee though and start off my day with 30 grams and most any protein tastes good in it.  I had high hopes that I would love the nectars in my water but not so far.

Good luck to you.

I use the Special K protein water packs too but I don't rely on them as a complete source of protein.  They're good, especially the Strawberry-Kiwi flavour.  I am going to try the Syntrax Nectars and see how they set with me.  I've had such a hard time finding a protein that I can tolerate and palate.  Being so severely lactose intolerant makes it hard but I manage it.

Oh to have a protein chewable that has a high protein gram amount!!!
