Feeling guilty

Hi,

I am currently on vacation and have really for the most part been following my doctor's plan 99%. I am so lucky getting fluids and proteins in etc. It has been more of a challenge going to restaurants than making my own food at home. I've been relying on Atkins drinks for snacks at this point.

The reason I feel guilty is I have had a couple (really just a couple) of bites of french fries, potatoes and Ben and Jerry's ice cream while I am here! I cannot believe it. I didn't feel as bad about the potatoes, but did about the ice cream. I cannot take much in at a time (thank goodness!), but I have thought - what am I doing!!!

Anyway - just needed to vent. Overall, I think I have done OK - just cannot believe I had ice cream, even if it was a couple of bites. (It did taste good tho').

Any advice, encouragement is appreciated!

Thanks!
Lynn

No one feels truly guilty until they have spoken to my mother....

Hang tough. Vacay is an exception we all enjoy.

Don't beat yourself up. You will do better at times and probably worse if you are like all the rest of us. It gets easier as you get further out and have more choices, and are better at planning.

I was pleased this time when I flew at my planning. Last time not so much. This time I took edemame, already steemed, in my purse to snack on. That and sliced pork tenderloin. I brought all my protein for the trip and protein bars in case meals were not when I needed something.

I've pretty much eaten on program even if it was stuff I wouldn't have eaten at home, like lobster buscque for lunch yesterday. Not perfect, but good enough for vacation.

You just do the best you can, and keep going. Soon enough you will be home and back on track. Have fun, me too.

This is a journey. Look at this as a learning session. When you get back home just get back on track. This is about gaining our health and our lives back. Looks like you planned ahead and a couple of bites of something is not a big deal in the long run.
Enjoy your vacation!

Thanks for all the support!

I feel I have done pretty well, except for the "bites" I had. Yesterday & today I ordered cheeseburger without the bun. I haven't hardly had any carbs today at all. So I am feeling I am back on track.

Thanks again! Waiting at airport to board plane so hopefully will be back home soon.

Don't beat yourself up. Easy to do. Just get back on track when you can. Vacay is what it is. We all have our moments then we move on.

You'll do great!!
