Wow, that is alot of fluids.  Be careful and take tiny sips. We were given little 1 ounce medicine cups and were told to drink one every 10 minutes.

I hope you're headed home today. I was just wondering if the water would go down easier with a little squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a touch of Splenda. Sometimes that does the trick for folks when water doesn't agree with their new stomachs.

I had an extraordinary amount of swelling in my tummy after surgery and had huge problems getting in enough fluids for the first week or so after surgery.  My surgeon almost kept me longer in the hospital but decided I could be ok at home.

I managed to avoid going to the ER only because I would wake up several times a night an would sip whatever I could get down each time.  In general I was somewhat dehydrated but survived.

Hope you are doing better and at home. I know its frustrating, but I am glad they didnt send you home only to be readmitted with dehydration in the near future. It will get better, hang in there!

Hope you are feeling better... Just relax until they are ready to release you..they won't keep you any longer than necessary.. I was very fortunate and begging for liquids with no problems at all..my complication was really unrelated to the pouch though.. hang in there and each day will bring more comfort....

Good luck with keeping hydrated.  I agree with the others - if you're starting to dehydrate, plain water can upset your stomach.
