Two things I hate about my husband who I love dearly -- Rant
OMG! That man is ******g me off this morning.
1. His iPad. He has discovered Netflix and he spends much of his free time with his headphones in watching some drivel on the screen. It has taken the place of reading in our house. I can't even converse with him because he can't hear me with his headphones on. It is getting very very annoying. It is my own damn fault since I bought it for him as a gift. I just never dreamed it would get out of control. iPad in the morning. iPad at night. I'm tired of fighting his iPad for conversation.
2. He loses weight so quickly. After several months of conferences and business dinners he gained 30 pounds. He decided he was going to take off those 30 pounds before our vacation next month. I'm very proud that he is successfully losing weight. He's lost 22 pounds in the past 4 weeks. He's cut back on his intake and is exercising like crazy in this incredible heat. Meanwhile I've lost 5 pounds in the last 3 months (87 in the past year). It just doesn't seem fair. Now he is only 1 pound heavier than me. I'm very proud of him and happy for him. He's never had the weight and metabolic issues I have, but I'm so damn jealous. It isn't easy for him, but it looks so much easier than it is for me.
His scale news combined with an iPad confrontation this morning just put me in a bad mood and I have to get it off my chest.
Rant over!

Life really can be so unfair. My hubby gained a little weight after he quit smoking, but not much. Eats whatever, whenever!!! I totally get it.
As for the ipad, there maybe a serious discussion in your near future before you launch the pad (or him) out the window! Maybe asking for some one on one time before the next movie.
Hang in there Kay!

Well.. hard to be mad at him for losing weight so easily when its so hard for us - do understand totally! But, you want to be happy for him because he is getting control of his weight before it gets control of him.
Now - the iPad... I get it, I really do. It would **** me off royally. I dated a guy who was on his little computer playing chess ALL the time. Getting ready to go out for dinner? Playing chess. Want to talk on the phone? Playing chess. Just kicking back and relaxing? Playing chess... yea... BTDT. I finally got pissed and said he would "misplace" the damn thing if it didn't stop...

oh kay, so glad someone else has DH issues. Since mine retired, his whole life slowed down to golf and TV (and reading while he is watching TV). Trying to get him to do anything is so annoying until I get really *****y.
Totally understand. Hope you get an answer.

Oh! I feel your pain!
My DH is retirement eligible with his company this year. He will be 55. I agreed to buy a new car to get him to agree to work for 3 more years ... long enough to pay it off.
He was out of work for 6 months when he retired from the Air Force. He stayed home with our 3 school-aged boys. He was so hard to live with. All he did was watch V. He didn't clean house he didn't cook dinner. He only went back to work because I put my foot down and demanded he clean the house or get a job to pay for a cleaning service. He got a job and I got a cleaning lady. Thank Goodness!
He has many other fine qualities, I'm just letting the small stuff get to me today. Thanks for sharing. Misery loves company!

I love my man, but when I have the hormones the 2 biggest peeves of mine are.
1 - When he breathes in.
2 - When he breathes out.
HA!
Not really! Its the smacking! I can ignore it when I am not hormonal but when I am hormonal - well.
If my beloved dies suddenly of blunt trauma or a fork in the eye. I did not do it.
Just sayin.
Sorry for your woes and your Ipad widowhood!

I think I must have a perfect hubby! LOL I works days and he works nights so I see him late Friday night until Sunday night (2 whole days) and that's it. While he is home during the day and I'm at work he tidies the house and does the laundry. I can't remember the last time I looked at the washing machine. We speak on the phone 3 times a day for about 3 - 5 mins and no other contact. Many friends of mine are very jealous but I do miss him so much during the week and look forward to Friday nights to see him again.
Cheers from Karin (in Oz)
Well being a guy its the opposite for me here. My wife is on her laptop constantly and txting her friends constantly even till 11pm at night.
I lost that cuddle time in bed watching tv cause she has to answer her txts all the time.
We talked about it but like a kid she just couldn't turn it off.
So I got fed up and cancelled txting on our phones LOL Talk about pissed off, but hey we went without it for about a yr. Then we tried it again with the understanding that if it gets out of control again its gone. Sure she could go out and get her own phone plan etc but didn't.
Well we have had txting again now for about 4 months and its slowly going back to the way it use to be Grrrrrrrrrr I miss my cuddle time!!!
