? Slightly dehydrated but getting 64 oz in?
This may be TMI, but last Sunday I had the worst episode of constipation I've ever had. So painful, hemorrhoids that I had forgotten I had bled a little. Ugh, but I have started colace and benefiber and things are getting better. I also have noticed that I have had a slight headache since then. I was always prone to migraines, but its not quite a migraine, even though I have taken my migraine meds a couple of times.
My question is my NUT says especially with hot weather, I need to increase fluids to 100 oz or more a day. How much do you all drink a day? Do you count any protein drinks/decaf coffee or milk? I have been, but then I thought, maybe I shouldn't.
Any suggestions would be great! Otherwise, I'm feeling great!
Thanks!
Lynn
While fluids do impact my bowels, I have found the best constipation relief is eating fresh fruits and vegetables. I admit, I eat more fruits than veggies, but the fresh fiber seems to help alot.
Like you I get killer dehydration headaches. I just don't want to experience them. 108 is the projected high here today...sweltering!

I eat veggies 3x a day, limit fruit to not even a serving a day. Bowels move daily but still not always comfortable. I do a good bit of benefiber daily also.

I count everything liquid I consume. I also drink more in hot weather. I went in for my check up with my PCP and he told me with the high temperatures we are having, to be sure and drink 1 Gatorade each day, whether I am out in the heat or not. So I have added one G2 low calorie each day. Half in the morning and half in the afternoon. I must admit that I do feel better. Maybe he is on to something!
Blessings....Dee
