Weight Gain
I couldn't agree more Lee. I have had a pretty horrible year financially so I do get the inability to spend a mint on organic... I tend to hit farmer's markets at the end of the sale and the farmers are very motivated to sell the organic stuff CHEAPLY because it doesn't last as long! I am blessed to live in CA where we have access to all kinds of organic stuff. I shop sales and freeze things when they are in season. I believe that alot of my hormonal disorders were caused by certain hormones and pesticides placed in food so I am pretty careful about it. I do think certain foods matter organic more than others. That said milk is one of the biggest offenders where it matters the most but with a family of 7... That is crazy expensive!!! I guess sometimes I just need to do the best I can and accept it isn't perfect. Most the research I have seen is that the exposure risks are more cumulative so limiting the exposure where you can afford to can only help... personally if i am going to "peel" the fruit or veggie I dont worry about it... Glad you came to post and shared your situation... you have done quite well and you are catching the slipping before it is way out of hand,,,, Good for you!!!! Amy
I feel your pain. I did great for the first 3 1/2 years and then I "fell into the stupid pit" as Vitalady so eloquently puts it. I started eating too many carbs, sneaking in as much sugar as my body would tolerate and slacked off on the protein.
It is difficult to get back on track but it's possible. You need to go back to food tracking (or start food tracking). Protein, protein, protein. Lots of water. Cut out that carb crap!!!!! And start exercising - even walking will help a lot.
Now...get to work! We're here to support you!

Thanks you're right it's exactly what I needed. I am now down 10 lbs and feeling much better. In fact I am still eating as much sugar as my body will tolerate but at least I'm not laying on the bathroom floor in pain 2-3 times a week because I thought I could handle it. LOL
I am exercising my butt off though, I've got a killer SPIN class! When I plateau I plan on doing body pump.
