HELP!

You all know I was having problems keeping my blood sugars up while in the hospital, but after the right IV bags they stabilized them. Well today all I can tolerate is water. Everything else makes me throw up. I've tried skim milk, Carrot juice. I just don't know what else to try. I feel shakey and need something of value to stay down. I'm going to try SF jello now, but I don't want to be at this place again,

I loved fiber one key lime yogurt with skim milk in the blender. Give that a try. What about some warm peppermint tea -- sometimes different temps will help. Warm chicken broth, too.

Pls don't panic. I am sure you will get some other info here, too!!

Can you dilute some apple juice? Straight juice might be too strong. Also, try some broth or bullion.

I've tried some diluted apple juice,very watered down, and chicken broth. Even those are not agreeing with my tummy. I'm just at a loss, and know I need something in my tummy.

I could do warm much better than cold.  Herb teas really helped me get my fluids in although they wouldn't help with blood sugar, I don't think.  At least keep sipping the water.  You don't want to get dehydrated on top of everything else.  Maybe just a tiny amount of broth with it.  Some folks are lactose intolerant so I wouldn't suggest milk products just yet.  Did your Dr give you some thing for nausea?  If so, use it.  If not, call and get something.

If its your sugar (and you know this for sure) that's bothering you, you can get some glucose tablets from CVS, walgreens, etc.  They dissolve in your mouth.  Not sure how your tastebuds are doing now, but it may be something to try.  You can chew or let them dissolve.

Now - something else and maybe someone will yell at me, but take a spoon of SMOOTH peanut butter, take very small tastes of it, let it melt in your mouth.  This is a good combination of protein and sugar in it. 

Now, I couldn't tolerate peanut butter (because of the fat) for quite awhile after surgery, but I had RNY.  Not sure how your sleeve will like it.  I'm thinking if you just let it dissolve that some of it will absorb through your mouth (I'm surprised and amazed sometimes when I see how much of our nutrients ARE introduced into our system from our mouth).  Water is one of them.

 I agree  with Jody . Even I (  Ms fatfree )  ate WHATEVER  I COULD  at this stage.   Actually I REALLY   ENJOYED taking BITES  of things i couldnt IMAGINE  taking  ANY  of for so many YEARS  LOL !  I ate  a bite or two of whatever  looked great to me(making sure to CHEW CHEW CHEW thirty times!!   lol  I even had KFC and Cinnabon  ( OHH SO naughty  .. and boy did I PAY in DUMPING  LOL )  

what i  didnt do was eat NOTHING lol...that DOESNT get U skinnier - it DOESNT spare the calorie burning muscle ....  it DOESNT keep U from having strictures ...  for goodness sakes GRRL PlEASE dont become a n overweight anorexic !!! 

Have U thought of EXERCISING  ?    TRUST me Ur APPETITE  will RETURN PRONTO   if Uwalk a few miles .... git a cute  workout outfit .. an iphone to sing tunes in Ur ear ...  some sound blocking cans   so U can hear U r Boyfriend Whisper  Swet Nothings  ABOUT HOW UR AZZ  IN  sneekers   turns him On

 trust me ...  U walk out of sight  uo the road 200  feet that man will be CALLING u  BACK lol  !!!!   LIKe a CAT  :)   Of course U , my Queen , will stick to Ur workout plan and keep WALKING and TANTALIZE    and INTRIGUE  HIm lol
