Question about the Golden Apple

Okay,, I'm wondering if I can add it to my signature. The reason I am asking is my highest weight was several years before I started this journey. I was able to lose about 30-35 lbs doing low carb and monitoring my medications. However, I signed into the surgeon's office at 203, last June.

In 2000/2002, I topped out somewhere between 245 and 250, that's why the highest weight in my signature is 245 with the year. Last June I signed into the surgeon's office at 203.

If I go from my highest ever weight, I qualify...

If I go from my surgery weight, I won't (and never will as 103 is too small for me).

Well, what do y'all think???

Lost weight is lost weight.

My high or at least the highest I know of was Feb/March 2010, 220.  At the surgeons, 216,   I went from the highest I knew which was a few months before.

I put my golden apple on when I hit 120 even though I have bounced around since then.

I think you just do what you are comfortable with.  I haven't seen any rules anywhere.

I know I also went from my highest pre-op weight, but I too will never see a golden apple as 118 was too much of a stretch for me.  I did hit 121 a few times.

Highest weight qualifies.

When we first put the Golden Apple out here, we talked about including any weight lost during the pre-op phase with the assumption that folks' highest weight and first weight officially recorded at the surgeon's office would be about the same. Bad assumption on our part. I just don't want you to get flamed or anything on the DS board if someone decides to count up your loss and dates, etc. So far nobody has been challenged but you never know.

I know I won't get a hassle over here but you're right, the DS board is a finiky beast at best but like others have said, it should count as pre-op is pre-op...and you should go by your highest weight.

You could take off some of the details from your siggy line. Don't give the dates.

Very true.

I really don't have to list any of that and if I edit my ticket to show the highest weight, it will also help.
