Hair Loss

Hello!
I have not posted in months but I needed to let you all know that I have been able to stop my hair from falling and it is now growing back at an amazing rate...

For the past 3 1/2 months I have been using:
Nioxin shampoo, conditioner and treatment  AND 1  5000 biotin vitamin daily (see below)
GNC Biotin 5000, Capsules, 240 Ea
NIoxin is a bit pricey but trust me it is worth it.  I now have a whole bunch of new hair sticking up on my head. It looks funny (like a mini-Mohawk) but I love it...because it means it is growing back and quickly!!!!!!!!!!!    Even my husband noticed the difference and offered to buy me more Nioxin product when he saw it was running low  If you are loosing a lot of hair, try this! I am so happy I found this because I was really freaking out from how much hair I was loosing.

Other than that I am 13 pounds away from my goal but I think that may be too low for me, since I am already getting the "you are not planning on loosing any more weight" comments. We'll see Im happy where I am.

Hope You are all doing GREAT!

Cindy

Cindy - thanks for the tips!  I'm beyond that point but I know there are LOTS of people where you're at now.

As far as the comments of "losing any more weight"... don't let the comments dictate as they just aren't used to seeing you this small.  I heard it 25 lbs from my goal weight... I told them "yep, about done".. but kept doing what I was doing... remember... this is for YOU.. not for them...

Congrats on your successes so far!

ive been doing bioten, lots, since before surgery.  It may have helped but I did lose hair anyway.  it's growing back now and my sister said I had "chemo hair"  with all my little new fuzz coming in.

How tall are you?  110 is little but depending on your height and bone structure, it may be doable.

Im only  5-1   so I think 110 is an ok weight for my height. I think last time I was 110 I was in elementary school so sometimes even I cant imagine being that small : )

I looked on the BMI chart on this site and 110 is on the low end of normal BMI for your height.  It says 122 is your ideal weight.  I'm 4'11", large boned and 122 right now.  That puts me in normal BMI but at the top.  It says the ideal weight for me is 114, which I can't imagine I will get to but who knows.  At any rate, I'm happy with where I am if I stop now, or would be happy losing a few more ##.

I'm glad that you've found something that works but since I've started detoxifying my own body - I'm going to play the devil's advocate here...

Did you realize there are 60 ingredients in Nioxin shampoo?  Sure, some of them are natural vitamins, minerals, and non-hazardous chemicals but a lot of them are not so benign.

There is an excellent website that I always check before trying or using any consumer products.  It's called EWG.org and they give you information and ratings (related to toxicity) on hundreds of personal care products.

Here is the link for the Nioxin shampoo on the ewg.org website...check it out and become as informed as possible before adding more toxic stuff to your body.

Thanks! I've never really looked into anything like this. I will check it out.
