How do you figure out how much you've eaten when you eat out.

You have been given good advice but I also wanted to add that most places have some sort of nutritional info on the web..not necessarily on their website but on the web nonetheless..also I have asked the manager if he/she has nutritional info and a lot of times they will print out the calories and what not..then I just put it into my program and put how much I ate, whether it is 1/4 , 1/3, or 1/2 of the portion size..

I always ask them to bring a to go plate if I'm with friends and my hubby and I usually share meals these days so I can measure it and place it on my plate. I usually go to the restaurant website to get the nutrition but I will try to get it using Google. Thanks for the suggestions.

I have some collapsible measuring cups (like this) and I've been known to pull out the 1/4 c. size in a restaurant before.  DH just rolls his eyes but nobody ever really comments on it much.  The 1/4 c. collapsible measuring cup is small enough that it's still pretty inconspicuous and doesn't take up much room in your purse!

Great idea. I will get one this week. No one will notice. I already cut my food into small pieces before I begin eating. I can separate my food and measure it with my 1/4 cup and put everything else in a box. I usually split with hubby or kids so I can give the rest back to them. Thank you for sharing.
