Hi guys,

I've been suffering extreme tiredness so i went and got some bloods done with my GP (General doctor)  I've got the results but not sure if the measurements will read the same as what you guys get done.  I hope that the results will be international form of measurement.  Here goes,  I've just typed it all up exactly how the report is written.  The doctor just told me to "eat right" and take my supplements! Do you have iron serum and ferritin numbers and ranges? Looks like hematocrit might be a little lower than you might want but need to see iron and ferritin. Your B12 looks great. Don't see your D3, calcium and PTH. Do you have albumin and protein still to post?

If you got thyroid stuff done, that's medical and know nothing about those.

Yeah, I have a feeling it's your iron dropping that may be the issue. A couple of forms of iron we do well with is carbonyl and heme irons. You can get heme iron by prescription. Proferrin Forte is prescribed in the US and Canada. An infusion may be more effective but I don't know if they'll authorize it yet. They want to fix what's broke and if you're not out of range yet and "only" trending down they may not go for an infusion. See if you can press them for information and push for an infusion. You can continue to take heme iron if you get an infusion.

Thanks so much for your reply. I've been taking Swisse Iron supplements since just before my surgery but I'm feeling just so tired and sleepy most of the time and don't know where I can find the energy some days to get through a work day.  Next week I have to go back to work on my fulltime hours.  At the moment I've only been doing a 6 hour day.

Time to talk to a hematologist and get your iron straightened out. Please keep us posted. ((hugs))

Karin, I looked up Swiss Iron supplements and while they are okay pre-op, they are the wrong kind now. They are Ferrous not Carbonyl. DS'ers and RNY'ers don't absorb the ferrous type.

Vitalady has the carbonyl, called Tender Iron.

I also added the Proferrin ES she carries and take those as well, I snap them in half to make them absorb better.
