just curious

 so, i'm losing some weight on this pre-op diet, and wondering what the 'skinniest' bariatric patients weight was?  anyone know someone who was 160 or lower?  i'm not there yet, but i may be in another week!

i'm not doing this for weight loss, but it sure seems odd, even for me!

If anyone was lower, I'm sure they will post but I can't think of anyone.  I only lost 6 pounds on my 6 month pre-op diet but that just proved my metabolism was shot because I really stuck to it. 

I do not know anyone who was that small. I only lost 3 pounds on my 2 wk liquid diet, but as Roz said it proves my metabolism is shot.

Congrats on losing weight during your pre-op diet.  Be proud of any controlled weight loss!  I was on the 3-month pre-op diet for 2 months, and lost about 22 lbs.  I'm pretty tall, so the 160 that you mention would not have qualified me for surgery.

Because I dropped below 35 BMI, my insurance won't cover my RNY, so I'm self pay.   I'm sure I'll lose some more during the liquid diet - my doctor only has us do it for about 5 days.

maybe 170 or 180. I was DUCKING the scale to tell the truth lol at that weight and dreading the surgeon telling me ... NO OPERATION FOR U SKINNY BUNZ

I had the exact same worry! 

But today, I had my final pre-op visit, and passed the required test, so all I need is to have my CPAP machine arrive, and I'm good to go. 

 awesome!!!  CPAP was my last hurdle, too.

 they have told me over and over again that they are not required to give the insurance company any more of my weights, that i qualified and that was that.  i've been so worried that the insurance will see another smaller weight and not cover me, but they assured me that wont be the case.  it better be true!!!!

I only lost 6lbs. Stubborn metabolism. I was 189 day of surgery. I am currently between 109 and 113 depending on the time of the month. Good luck!~

 I think you have to go by BMI. The lowest BMI I know about was a lapband patient who had a BMI of 28.
