Bariatric center picnic - what to bring???
Hi
Our bariatric center is having a family picnic this weekend. I do not have a clue on what to bring. Usually I make a pasta salad with tri-color pasta, low fat Italian dressing and veggies. I don't know if that would be appropriate or not. It is supposed to be something that is bariatric friendly. I am still on mushies (but will be on soft foods on Thursday), so haven't had much experience yet in the kitchen with all of that.
The center is providing all the meat.
Thanks for any suggestions and recipes!
Lynn

Dont panic, this one is super easy to take care of.
Websites like theworldaccordingtoeggface.com
bariatricfoodie.com
and I like allrecipes.com although this is not a bariatric website, they have a diabetic area that I tend to use.
When all else fails, cheese and meat platter, veggies or even fruit. I tend to make a cucumber salad (minus the onion) and it seems to be well accepted. Good Luck it will be ok

Excellent idea! I wonder how deviled eggs would do with greek yogurt rather than mayo or miracle whip? I bet it would be good. I like them with sweet relish though and don't think that would be a good option... maybe dill relish with a packet of stevia or other sweetener? Hmmm... something to try out!
I take deviled eggs. I have one recipe that calls for yogurt and chutney and curry powder instead of mayo and mustard. It's nice and spicy! I make the regular ones with greek yogurt too most of the time.
I have another recipe for crab-stuffed deviled eggs that I haven't made but have eaten. They are awesome. You can put a small shrimp on top as a garnish too.

During Christmas last year I had a bunch of stuff to go to and made a SF pumpkin cheesecake for one and a SF chocolate triffle for the other. Bariatric foodie had cheesecake receipies and for the triffle I just used a SF chocolate cake mix, SF cocolate pudding, SF whipped topping with SF cheesecake pudding and fruit and layered everything. You could do a vanilla one also with white or yellow cake and vanilla pudding.
