I'm still around!

I read a lot, but never post. I've been down about the weight loss being so slow. But I have decided to just enjoy my new body and the things it can do now that it couldn't do before.

The only bad thing is (but kinda good) I'm scheduling my back surgery. I am hoping for November, but it depends on what the doc says. I've been losing feeling in my leg and that's a scary thing.

But.... on the Excellent side!

I'm down from a size 26/28 to a 18/20 in most everything. And I finally crossed the 30lb lost mark which feels like it's taken forever to do.

I'm working out now and though I'm taking it easy on my back, I'm up to 100 crunches a day. For me, that's kind of a miracle. I got a yoga/exercise ball and doing exercises on that is super fun. I'm also going on the kids' trampoline! I'm under the size limit for once in my life.

Hoping you are all well and enjoying your Sunday evening.

31 pounds lost in approximately 7.5 weeks is an average of 4.1 lbs. per week.  That is a fantastic average.  Mine has been 2.5 since I started.  You are doing great.  No reason to be down or think it's coming off too slow.  :-))  You'll be down about 70 lbs. by the middle of November at this rate.  Ought to make back surgery and recovery one heck of a lot easier!

Hang in there Kelly.  :-)

Yep, losing the feelings in your legs is a scary thing. Hang in there and keep walking though. You will be up and walking after your back surgery quicker than you ever thought you would be. They gave me a chair to hold myself up and push but had me walking the second day post-op. Hurt like hell but you gotta do it. Don't try to be brave and ask to cut your pain meds. I tried to and that was the wrong thing to do! One thing Vitalady says about getting ready for another surgery post-WLS is increase your protein and make sure your iron markers are the best you can get them.  They'll likely take a couple of pints of your own blood prior to surgery, so really work on your iron levels. If you have any more back surgery questions, let me know.

Thanks for those pointers. This is my second back surgery so I've been around this block before. I haven't had one since wls, so it's new in that area. My first surgery I was up hours after and walking. It was HELL!

Sounds like you are doing great and your losing is wonderful.

When I think about having to have my knee replaced, I just have to remember how much easier it will be now than when I weighted over 200lbs.  Same for your back.

It sounds like you are doing GREAT!!!  I bet by the time your surgery rolls around in November you will almost be at your goal and therefore in a great position for the surgery!

Keep up the great work and come around more!!!

WOW....the inches must be falling off of you!!   I think you are doing awsome!!   I must be one of the rare ones who just enjoyed every pound that fell off and never worried about what I had to lose.

Stop fretting and just enjoy what you have accomplished!!!!   Isn't jumping on a trampoline fun..... My DH teases me that I bought ours for myself instead of the grandchildren....LOL

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!
