Wii Fit Question
Hi everyone,
I saw in a post that some of you have the Wii Fit.
Is it any good?
Do you use it often?
Do you think it is a good way to exercise?
I actually have a water rower and love it to bits but with the stomach muscle tear at the moment haven't been able to use it. I used to find the rower was a brilliant all over exercise and with the water swishing in it I find it quite relaxing to hear it and then exercise doesn't feel like a chore.
Cheers from Karin (in Oz)
I've gone through times when I have used it daily and others when I don't use it very often. Part of that is how my knee is doing. In good weather, I tend to be outside more with the ponies and garden. Through the week if the weather is bad, I go to Curves.
The Wii Fit Plus is great fun and not hard to do 30min easily. You can choose your energy level and I go for the high calorie burn stuff but it is still fun. I haven't tried the dance ones but I understand they are fun and great exercise also. Not sure it will give you as much of a work out as the rower, but it is fun.

For as out of shape as I was (and still have a long ways to go), it provided shaky yoga poses, balancing challenges, a few strengthening exercises I could do, and a bunch of light aerobics that are do-able for me. I compete against my previous scores and 30 minutes can get my heartrate up and burn 100+ calories. It alone made it possible for me to join a gym, start horseback riding again, go quading and hiking, and have energy for multiple other things I was incapable of doing for a long time. You "unlock" more exercises and time durations as you progressively get better. Some will work up the ladder faster than others. I'm still at the Beginner level for the most part, and will keep using it. I love it being in the privacy of my own home and I can do it in 10 minute increments if I need to... sustained movement is what it's all about for me.
Yep, I love my Wii Fit Plus... My Wii Zumba program is next... as soon as the hip belt will stretch around me! ROFL!!
Oh, and yes indeedy, it is FUN!

I have had a regular Wii Fit for several years. I haven't used it much recently, but will be getting back to it after surgery.
My sister-in-law used it as her first exercises after abdominal surgery, and the exercises were gentle enough to start with (after her 6 weeks when she couldn't do anything), then she was able to build up core strength with the later exercises.
I hope it works for you!

There might be a difference between the Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus program? I use the Plus.
Absolutely entertaining and delightful. Especially when you create your own "Mii", which is the character that stands in as you. Mine looks just like me (on a good day) and is always so excited when I do well on an exercise! Can't wait to hear what you think. lol
I've never ventured into the Mii world out there, but I believe you can connect to friends (other "Mii"s) via the internet and do little friendly competitions. Let us know if you figure that part out. LOL
