At first glance, everything looks fine and nothing needs to be tweaked.

Like MacMadame, I'm wondering about the ferritin. If you want to try to bring the AST and ALT down, you could start taking milk thistle. I take 2 of Vitalady's capsules with my morning and evening vitamin batches.  As you exercise, your HDL number might come up a little. I know you guys are exercising now. I'd sure like to see your potassium number. In this heat, can't be too careful. otherwise, looks good!

The copy I got was a scan of a scan. I plan on going by Quest this morning and getting a "real" copy of my labs. I plan on telling them that Dr. Pomp didn't get my results.  But I looked at what I got and the Ferritin did look like it was 630.

Well, Liz and I went by Quest this morning and told them Dr. Pomp's office didn't have the lab results.

The person who works there went back to her computer and faxed them to Dr. Pomp's office again.

Did I get a hard copy of these results from the "helpful" Quest person? Nope.

Curses!!! Foiled again!!!

I did email his office and told them they had another fax from Quest this morning. I also asked them if their office had a PIN number so I could access the lab results online so I wouldn't have to bother them every 3 months.

*Sigh*

Getting your results online is awesome. My medical group puts everything online so I can look at all my lab results any time I want.

I am dying to know if 630 is your real ferritin. And, if it is, can you lend me some? LOL

I got a response from Dr. Pomp's office already.  Unfortunately, they do not have a PIN number so I can not obtain these results online.  Quest did re-fax the test results to Dr. Pomp's office.  Once he has reviewed the labs, his Admin Asst. will scan them and email them to me.

Like I said before, The results I got previously were a scan of a scan so the numbers were really hard to see.  I brought it up again after you and Gina asked before.  I looked and showed it to Liz and it appeared to both of us that my Ferritin value was 630.  I brought up my lab results from March and my Ferritin value then was 425.

Have you had a recent IV iron infusion?  A recent IV infusion, if the dosage was large enough can make your ferritin this high.  I know it happened to me many years ago.

the other confusing part of your blood is that you are showing up anemic but your actual iron is fine (not counting your ferritin), your B12 is fine.  So the only other type of anemia that was tested for is folic acid.  You might want to ask your doctor to run a folate level.  Low folate levels can cause a low RBC, hemoglobin and hemacrit levels.

Another possible cause for the high ferritin level is severe inflamation in your body. Have you had any recent surgeries or injuries recently?  I know my last ferritin was 550 and it was due to inflamation from surgery due to a perforated colon and reversal of an iliostomy.  I was told it could take up to 6 months or more for the ferritin to come down.

Nope, No iron infusions here. I did have urological surgery June 2 however.

That is probably why the ferritin is so high.
