Need Advice on Stabilizing Weight Loss
I am much lower then I expected but I am not actively trying to gain weight. I am gradually adding in healthy calories, mainly protein. I still avoid refined carbs and plan on continuing that. I am well aware of the "bounce back" weight and I know that since I am fairly early out I am still in the honeymoon phase. I don't know about the malabsorption part of it since I had a revision to decrease the amount I malabsorbed but I do know that my restriction will lessen with time and my weight will redistribute. I'm not happy with my appearance, either, but I am confident that things will even out. Like it was said, I wouldn't worry about it while you are in the normal BMI range.

I too am right there with Jody. Some people on the board will remember me posting the same plea last September - I scared myself with how gaunt I was!
I was able (with the support of my nut after I showed off my skeletor ribs and upper chest) to add in good fats (peanut butter made of only peanuts, almonds, that sort of thing) to slow the weight loss, and after another 3 or 4 pounds, I stabilized.
I'm still there, and the remaining body fat has redistributed so that I no longer look gaunt and my face and upper chest look like I've gained appropriate weight, even though I haven't.
Seriously, let your body decide what the bottom is unless you go below the healthy range for body fat (preferably) or BMI. You WILL redistribute and be ok.

Rebecca- Thanks for the insight. I did speak with my doctors office and my sister who is 3 years out from VSG. I guess that although there is some bonce back, d/t the ability to increase the amount you eat with VSG over time, it isn't quite as much as with the malaborptive procedures. They both like all of you have reassurred me that my body will know when to stop. I too have started to add some healthy proteins. But my doctors office recommends a rounded diet so I have added back some breads and crackers (mostly whole grain) in small amounts with the main part of my diet still coming from protein. I hope that some of the redistribution includes getting some fat back around my tailbone area, as sitting for any length of time is a challenge. All of these are easy challenges compared to the alternative of being 90lbs overwt, with all kinds of health problems. Thanks a ton for your support and comments.

You're welcome - but I have to tell you, the tailbone didn't get any of it.
Oh well - the rest of me is good! LOL!

I worried about this a lot but it turned out I was worrying for nothing. In fact, I kind of wish I'd let myself go a bit lower to account for bounceback, for one thing. Also, the bag of bones look went away when I built up some muscles. If you start to get underweight for your frame, you can always eat more calorie dense food or add in another snack time. But building up muscle will probably add some weight on the scale as well as cover your bones.
I think 60 g of protein is too low though. 70-100 g is better for us in our modern society which is not based on manual labor (for most of us anyway).
