Need Advice on Stabilizing Weight Loss

I despretely need some advice on how to stop my weight loss.  I am 5-2 1/2 and now weigh 131 pounds (normal BMI).  Have increased my calories have even tried eating junk calories to try and stop but I keep going down.  Will my weight stablize on its own?  I am still not able to eat much at a time.  I do get in 60+ grams of protein a day.  No longer watch my carb count.  It seems that the more I eat calorie wise the more I lose.  Any insights?  I am 7 months out, have lost a total of 68 pounds since surgery and 81 pounds total and am afraid I am going to end up looking like a bag of bones. :-(

It is said that your body will stop where it is happy.  Not a problem I have had, yet.  Congrats on reaching goal.  Let's hope it stops soon, if that is what you want.

Sharon, please stop the carbs and junk food and increase your protein shakes. You should be eating or drinking 100-120 grams of protein minimum. It will help you stabilize at a healthy weight. You want to stop somewhere around 21BMI to give youself some bounce back room. How much are you losing a week now? Is it slowing or going in stair steps?

Some weeks I don't loss any but in the past 6-8 wks I have lost 17 pounds.  I dont think I can get anywhere near 120 gms a day.  I work hard to get in 4 small meals/snacks 2-3 oz of something.  and 48 oz or so of liquids.  If I drink I can't eat and visa versa.  My current BMI  is around 23.  But I am starting to look gaunt and saggy (my perception maybe).  Doesn't seem to matter what I eat have not gained period.  When I say carb I am talking about a piece of toast with Peanut butter or cream cheese.  The only real "junk" I eat is popcorn which is the only thing that I seem to be able to eat more than a 1/2 cup of.  If it is dense protein at all I am pretty limited to about 1/2- 3/4 of a cup closer to 1/4- 1/2 if it is beef.  I can eat a ton of cheese sticks but have gotten pretty tired of them.

Well, that makes me feel better about your carbs. They're healthy. Try to drink more shakes and count them towards your daily fluids. They are more bioavailable than dense meat so you are absorbing more and your weight should stabilize.

I've have two regrets during my Weight Loss Journey that I wish I could go back and do over again.  1...I waited until I was in my 50's to have surgery and 2...Increasing my calories because I thought I was going to low even though I was still in the "normal" range.

You might get to a point where you feel to thin but believe me once the honeymoon period is over and you start absorbing calories you might wish you had left some bounce back room.

We all have to decide what is best for us but be very cautious adding things into your menu that gave you trouble before surgery.  I wish I had avoided carbs and never had taken my first potato chip.

At your height you can easily go down another 10 to 15 pounds and be very happy!  And if you do there is always that chance of a bounce back of 5 pounds or so.
You are only 7 months out so go for it NOW, because when you're 2 years or more out you will be wishing for these easy (early) weight loss days back again!

Also, if you work out with weights, you will define your muscles and NOT look like a bag of bones!

You will look really HOT!

Good Luck!

Sorry I didn't reply back, my computer internet service was on the frizt.  Anyway, thanks for the insight nice to hear that those further out didn't waste away to nothing.  Kinda amazing to me that I am concerned about this side of it now, never would have dreamed that I would be worried about being "to thin".

Let your body decide where to stop.  I'm 5'3" and hit 121 for my low...

Its normal to look gaunt when you are losing weight, but trust me, it all redistributes and even if you don't gain weight, you will start looking "healthier".

I agree with Jody, your body will know when to stop.

I'm just shy of 5'7" and my lowest was 116, that was a little too low for me, my happy place is 118-120. At this weight I don't think I look gaunt or "skinny' at all.
