Good morning everyone. I was just wondering what you all take for fiber. Being on the low carb high protein diet is not making me get enough fiber. I figure I should just get now what I would take after surgery. Also what is you favorite multi-vitamin, and calcium? I bought some gummy vitamins, but I saw the carbs on tem, so Im going to return them.

honestly  I eat so many vegetables raw and cooked that  fiber is never an issue  ... and neither is constipation , thank God .  I could not handle that  lol !!

I wonder if  the carbs in the veggies really  make much of a difference ....

I chew a handful of  flintstones  kids gummy sour bears in the morning  ... OK  theyre not the best and they sure TASTE  like eating candy  .. which is why i never forget  'em  lol ....

I think I burn those carbs off  myself  but maybe  my body likes a carby balance in its diet ...

I also eat tons of veggies/salads etc, and almost every morning have a greek yogurt w/ blueberries and fiberone cereal and never have issues.  Thank goodness!!

I use Miralax 2-3X each week, putting it in some iced tea.  If I don't, I'm miserable.  I found that the other fiber supplements created too much gas.  And I will confess that I use the gummy vitamins.   Initially I used the Bariatric Advantage vitamins, but I hated the taste.  I'd rather have a few carbs and actually get my vitamins in.  I keep them at work and consider them my 3pm sweet treat.   And I use the Bariatric Advantage calcium chews.

Good luck as you start this journey, it's terrific!

I have also been eating high protein, low carb diet for a year now.  I used 2 tablespoons of benefiber in my morning coffee.  It works well.  Also, I make many of my own muffins, breads, etc using flax meal.  Flax meal is almost 0 carbohydrates.  If I eat flax meal muffins, etc, I can reduce the amount of benefiber as flax meal is a complete fiber in itself.

I put Benefiber in my protein shake (when I remember). I'm not sure I really need it any more, but I figure why not.

As I've gotten farther out, I eat more veggies and fruit so I get more fiber naturally.
