Good Morning. Just talking to be talking

The grand baby turns 2 today. Doesn't seem like it's been any time at all since she was born. Now we have another one on the way. 2 little girlie grand babies. Yikes!

Got caught up on my sleep. I really needed that solid 8 hours. I sure don't bounce back as easily as I did when I was younger. Getting old sucks but I'm sure if I hadn't gotten WLS and lost weight, I'd be ready for the "home" right about now. I was just so miserable before surgery.

To-do List
pay bills
get something out of the freezer for dinner
decide on a birthday gift for the baby and send DH and Son#2 off to get it
call and schedule Terminex
that's it

Y'all have a great Thursday. What's on your to-do list today?

grandbabies are the best!!!  i have twin grandbabies, boy and girl.  they turn 4 the day after my surgery.  i am blessed to know that i will be healthier and will be able to keep up with them soon.  they take a lot out of me now.

of course, my son is in the navy, so they will be leaving me for california 7 days after my surgery, but they have always been good about coming back for some holidays (daughter in law and kids) and when my son is on the ship, they sometimes come to stay the year, like they did last year.  we watch them all day on sundays when they are around.  it's been thrilling watching them grow and learn!

hope today is wonderful for you, gina!  i'm just feeding raccoon babies today, and tomorrow i have the day off, and have 2 pre-op appointments!  it's getting close!

Good morning, glad you got some sleep, Gina...I'm sorely lacking in that department which is one of the reasons I think my weight has slowed so badly. But I am already taking something that is suppose to help me sleep.

Having girls is fun, so many pretty clothes for that age...of course getting them at thrift stores makes sense for that age too since they usually only wear something once or twice and then outgrow it.

So are y'all gonna have a birthday party for gdd?

My to do list is laundry today and start thinking about what to pack for this trip we have coming up startuing the 16th. I know it's too early to pack but not too early to write down what we need to pack.

Maybe I need to schedule a doctor appt to talk about my inability to sleep.

I think we will only have granddogs, no babies.  Makes me sad but is killing DH.  But DD isn't in a solid relationship so its just as well.

Planning on driving ponies and finishing the trailers today.  Big storms came through last night and DH forgot to close the trailer windows so I'm afraid when I go out, everything will be wet.  I've come home from lots of camping trips wet, but don't usually head off that way.  At least we can close up the camper part and turn the air on so it should dry out and I hadn't put the bedding in, just the bare mattress.  We'll see.

Going to make a big pot of bean soup or chili to take camping.  Figure it will be good for lunches.  And a crustless quiche to have for breakfast.  The days of cereal and sanwitches are gone and sometimes you have to think about what to replace them with.  We do communal suppers each night.  My group is to bring side dish veggies.  With all of our gardens, that won't be difficult.

My sister is doing Vegan before 6pm diet.  So she is eating a lot of the stuff I am not, fruit and grains although we both eat beans.  Should be interesting trying to mix those two with me doing low carb and her doing high carb?? At least we are both doing no refined carbs.  Basically, we are each bringing our own food.

Sleep, I have been missing mine lately too. I think between being periomenopausal and a little anemic, sleep has been evading me too.

Need to start calling on some estimates for the roof and hopefully make it out to pick some fresh raspberries. I cant wait to have some raspberries blended into a vanilla shake or maybe chocolate, yummy! The strawberies are great and from the freezer makes my shake a frozen treat.

Nothing planned, waiting on the call to see How grandpa is doing. DH has already left and is half way there. Start orientation tomorrow for my new job and I am scared to death. Other than that probably laundry and the coast guard exchange for pure protein rtd shakes.

Good Morning!

Gina, I started using ear plugs when I was in Spain because Zach stayed up later than me on Skype with his girlfriend.  I am a light sleeper and wake up as soon as the world around me wakes up in the morning.  I slept great in Spain, which I thought was the result of 10-15 miles of walking everyday, but decided to try ear plugs here at home.  I have not slept this well in decades!  Last week one morning the alarm went off for 15 minutes before I heard it.  Jetlag really hit me this trip.  I was going to sleep at 9 every night and waking up at 6.  Now I'm able to stay awake until 10:30 and wake up around 5:30.  What a relief to be sleeping!!

I have a short to do list today:

9 hour workday - have a site visit an hour away to attend to in the late morning
Pilates after work
Friend coming over for pork chop and salad when I get home.  We watch So You Think You Can Dance together on Thursday night.  Love my TiVo!

Lee - I need to get me some earplugs for DH's snoring!!!  Some nights are better than others, but some nights it is awful.  Of course he made me go and have mine seen about and get the CPAP machine, but he won't go and have his seen about.
