Sounds like you're doing fine. No worries. Maybe at the 2 week appt you'll be cleared for more vitamins and minerals too?

Sounds like you're doing great!  Good news!

Keep following your Dr's orders and don't beat yourself up anymore about the crackers - it happens.  I ate the broth from egg drop soup in those days if you want something with a lot of flavor and it tasted awesome!

WooHoo! Way to go. At my 2 weeks, he checked my incisions (and thankfully took off those infernal steri strips), took my weight, said I was doing well and I clarified what full liquids and purees were and how long. My next appt is at 6 weeks.

Don't worry about the one slip - you are only one day away from when you will most likely be put on pureeds and believe it or not, crackers are on that.  When you chew them until they are almost gone or put them in soup until they are total mush, they are considered pureeds.  But, I wouldn't do it again, until your NUT tells you that you are cleared for them.

At your 2 week apointment, you will have your incisions checked - if lap, then if the strip fell off, that is great and they are healing fine.  If the strips are still on, then it depends on the surgeon.  Some take them off but my surgeon feels they need to stay on until they fall off on there own to facillitate further healing.  If you let the water in the shower vaguely hit them and wash them with the wash cloth, it will help loosen them also.

You will be weighed. At my surgeons office, I saw my Nutritionist and she went over my eating plan in great detail and all my supplements that are needed.  also make sure if you aren't already, take an acid reducer = preferably a PPI for a year, and many need for life to prevent ulcers and reflux.  Never take any NSAIDS.

I went back at 5 weeks for my first set of labs.

If you have any further questions, feel free to PM me

I got my drain out, woohoo, but it doesn't sound like you have one.  Otherwise, just checked my incisions and weight.  We started vits at 2 weeks and went from clear liquids to full liquids.  We met, everyone who had surgery that week, as a group everytime we changed from one diet phase to the next.

Don't beat yourself up about the crackers, but it is important to follow the rules.  Eating what we wanted, not what we were suppose to is what got us to surgery in the first place.  Use this time to establish good habits and eating patterns.
