I'll admit I was one of those folks that ran head on blind into having the surgery without doing ANY research on it whatsoever.  I had a former boss that had the surgery and she told me some about it - but I wanted to lose weight SO bad that I just went for it.  From the time of my initial seminar to surgery was 4 weeks....  I did have NUT counselings in there and had to so some diet planning, but otherwise, nothing...

I have learned a LOT since of course, but still some people don't take the initiative to learn anything about it even afterwards.
