Wildlife rehab? Wow - I'm impressed. The most I do for animals is foster cats and feed the birds.

My surgeon is running a clinical trial using WLS to cure type 2 diabetes in people with a BMI of 30-35. He believes people with a BMI of under 35 can be helped - cured. If his theory bears fruit there might be some real lightweights benefiting from surgery.

Welcome - sit down and stay a while.

Welcome aboard Jenny.  This is a good place to give and get support.  You'll be very happy after surgery to see your health improve.  My diabetes is now in remission, my cholesterol is where it should be and I feel pretty good.  We're glad to have you join us.

Hi Jenny and welcome.  You will fine a lot of short folks here.  I am 4'11" and started just a little heavier than you.  I have had a great response to surgery and feel wonderful.  Good luck with your journey.

Hi Jenny.  Everyone is so welcoming here and you will learn so much from the experienced ones.  My highest wt, was also 207 lbs, 194 the day of surgery.  I am also a shorty, so the weight was very uncomfortable.  I can't tell you how much better I feel now!  It is so cool to be able to do the simplest things, like painting your toenails, without feeling like you are having a heart attack!  Good luck!

it's been a long time since i have painted my toenails, and it's because of being uncomfortable doing so!  cant wait to be able to do the things 'normal' people dont even think about doing!

thanks for the welcome, beverly!
