Re: Pain in lower left side

Hi guys,

It's me again.  Still have bad pain lower left side and at times still up under the breast bone.  I showed hubby tonight where the pain is and he said, "isn't that the two spots where the joins are"?  Well duh for me and the spots where I am sore would roughly be where the joined spots would be.  The other problem is I have bloated up really bad and look semi pregnant and swollen.  I rang the doctors rooms again today and spoke to the nurse who has managed to get me in to see the doctor on Monday morning. (It's Friday night here in Australia) so I have to just take it easy over the weekend until I see the doc and find out what this pain is.

It was so bad last night and during the night it kept me awake and when I had to get up to go to work this morning all I did was sit on the toilet and had a little cry. :'( asking myself why did I do this to myself?

I shall keep you all posted to let you know what the doc says.

Cheers from Karin (in Oz)

Did you by any chance have a hiatal hernia repaired when you had your WLS?

I think I would try to go with mostly clear liquids and maybe some soft foods or mushies you have not had any trouble with. I hope you feel better and I'm glad you're getting in to see the doc. Keep us posted.

I did/do have a small hiatial hernia and I don't know if he repaired it when he did the surgery or not?  I would have hoped he repaired it but that pain would be high up I imagine?

The pain from that hernia repair could show up anywhere, I think. That might be what's giving you so much pain. It happened to Suzywong when she and I were newbies. MacMadame figured it out. It could be adhesion forming and I'm sure your surgeon will think about that possibility when you see him. Hang tough ((hugs)).

Thanks honey for your hugs, I really need them tonight.  I'm sitting in my recliner chair in the lounge with the laptop and whenever I try to get up the lower left pain is pulling like hell.  Maybe it is adhesions as sometimes it feels like very tight stitches pulling.

Oh Karin, I am so sorry you are hurting.  Lets hope it is bearable for the weekend so you can get in and get it diagnosed on Mon.
I had 2 big hernia repairs and lots of adhesions that had to be cut out but other than sore and swollen from the surgery, no issues with them.  So they just need to get whatever this if fixed so you can get on with your life and recovery.
I hope you have an ok weekend.  Will be swinging for you.

Big hugs Karin, I am so sorry this is happening...Wonder if it could actually be a stitch pulling from something? Not sure wht it would be that low but just something that popped in my head. Feel Better really soon
