What kind of stove do you have?  I use gas cooking.

Kenmore & Maytag have dual oven stoves. I LOVE mine...however mine is electric not gas. I got mine after a very good friend who lives in the area got the gas Maytag version. Both companies make the electric and the gas version.

I love being able to cook at two different oven temps...and mine has a toast feature so we've reired the toaster.

What I WANT is a dual FUEL stove, gas for the burners and electric for the oven part.

I have a gas stove--- mine is a maytag (so is my dishwasher).  It isn't anything super special, black and stainless though.  My cook top area is black..stainless on display area and front.  Has been wonderful to us.  Dishwasher is also black and stainless- hard to keep looking clean...not crazy about the dishwasher.  Would have rathered one of the really sweet ones with two separate areas. But $$ with a household of kids had to be considered.

I have a Frigidare it is electric.  I have the flat top and I love it.  I think alot of people hate them but I like the cleaning part of it.  It does cook hot and is hard to get the temp down once it gets heated up, but sooo easy to clean.

Congrats on your new refrig.  I think I would like the 3 drawer.

Roz, they have some neat refrigerators that have a snack drawer.  You don't have to open the whole refrigerator.  We just redid our kitchen and I replaced my cook top with a stainless steel one.  It is a maintenance nightmare.  I do know they make refrigerators that don't show fingerprints.

Our French Door is black, and a GE Profile...and all I can say is while I WILL go with another French Door, I will never buy another GE FRIDGE again. It's on it's fifth ice maker repair. We've already replaced it four times and it's stopped again. Only reason I haven't called out the service people is that we don't use the ice maker much.

IF you do get a French Door, make sure it has an IN door ice maker not a freezer one. Also make sure it has a full size tray in the fridge part. I LOVE the Kenmore line of French Door, the ice maker is in the upper part, accessible to the outside and is slim. It has the gourmet drawer that is the full width of the upper part.

Just shop around and find the one that suits you best. Stainless steel, even the fingerprint "proof" kind is pricy compared to black or white. And while SS is fashionable, so is black. And white is timeless, goes with everything.

We prefered the all black cause it looks classy and yet is much cheaper than the SS. Comparing identical French Door in SS (at 1599.00) and black OR white (at 1379.00), can you tell which one I would get? Why pay 150.00 JUST for Stainless Steel?

My next brand??? Most likely a Kenmore. Seems LG, Maytag, and Amana don't have the full width drawer. Jenn-Air's ice maker takes up much more room.

The reason I prefer the French Door is you get the entire width of the fridge UNLIKE a side by side. I wanted one the first time I saw one, got mine in May 2007..however, mine is a GE which will NOT be replaced with another GE.

I have SS and I got it back when they didn't put a plate behind the door so you can put magnets on the fridge. I miss being able to magnet stuff to the fridge though we have some cork boards hanging for that and the kitchen is tidier looking for it.

I have the kind with a single door for the fridge and the freezer is a drawer on the bottom that pulls out. I like the style but this particular fridge is kind of small for my family. We keep the old one in the garage and put a lot of the groceries there and schlepp them into the house fridge as we eat stuff and get more room there.
